Dialed In looks set as the favorite for the Kentucky Derby in less than two weeks.

The winner of this month's Florida Derby remains No. 1 on The Associated Press' final list of Top 10 Derby contenders. Dialed In leads most other weekly polls as well.

With upsets and injuries to several Derby hopefuls, Dialed In moved to the head of the 3-year-old class last week. The Top 10 is unchanged after two Derby preps over the weekend failed to produce any new contenders.

Risen Star winner Mucho Macho Man is No. 2, followed by Wood Memorial winner Toby's Corner, former No. 1 Uncle Mo and Arkansas Derby winner Archarcharch.

The most recent prominent Derby defection is Jaycito, who is sidelined with a foot bruise.

When he lost by a neck in the Louisiana Derby and by that same margin of reduction in the Arkansas Derby, everything indicates that it will be enjoying the distance of a mile dates classical at the stage of opening of the Triple Crown. "Careers in Louisiana and Arkansas, each 1 million dollars, were an eighth part of a short mile".I thought that validated the Louisiana Derby with the Arkansas Derby, "trainer Steve Asmussen said." "Sets really well for him." "It seems to be a horse who appreciate another eighth of a mile."While the son of Mineshaft worked his way in what is expected to be a full field of 20 horses at Churchill Downs with $400,000 in profits from betting graduate, Darren Fleming, Assistant Asmussen, noted after the near miss in Arkansas that two recent defeats represented "$ 800,000 worth of inches.""The bite of these narrow defeats is not easy to swallow, for operation of Asmussen or owner Ahmed Zayat."He left a lot of money on the table. "They are missed opportunities that do not return, said Asmussen.""But we have very good opportunities directly in front of us, and we hope that we can do it there."After being acquired for $170,000 as an awakening, Nehro requires considerable patience. It was not prepared to compete until the December 12, when he finished fourth at the Fairgrounds in New Orleans. He retreated to finish 10th, plagued by the length of 22¼, in his second start at Oaklawn Park in Hot Springs, Ark., before breaking his solitary win February 21. seems strange to Nehro rate as a top contender from the Derby would be only his second victoriapero this has been a spring loaded with uncertainty. "He has a great attitude." The horse is doing well, "said Asmussen Ojalá."Last chance: Medallion of silver, the favorite beaten in the Santa Anita Derby, will be a last chance to collect sufficient profit classified stakes to punch their ticket to Kentucky. Leads a field of six in the career of Lexington 200,000 dollars on Saturday at Keeneland in Lexington, KY Racecourse although silver Medallion was seventh in the Breeders' Dixiana Futurity in his previous start only at Keeneland PolytrackHe has made his best performance on surfaces of all time, including a victory in the El Camino Real Derby in fields of Golden Gate in the Area.Silver Bay Medallion contains $184,334 in stakes money classifieds. If you can add a fee of $120,000 for the winner in the Lexington, it would make the Court of Derby. Battaglia is expected that the Factor, a solid choice of 7-5 as part of a field of 13 in Arkansas, your choice above to the implementation of the roses, if it performs well at Oaklawn Park in Saturday.George Bolton, who co-owns the FactorHe is not worried about the odds. You want to see far enough to believe that the son of frontrunning war front has shot in the management of the distance of the Derby 1¼ mile for trainer Bob Baffert. "I think that if it runs in the first three and is well finished that Bob will tell us to go", said Bolton. Baffert has three triumphs of Derby.El Factor has such a high acceleration of principle that has always been the question, how much time can take it. He opened his eyes in the grade 2 rebels on March 19, when relaxed on the initiative of jockey Martin Garcia and won for the length of 6¼ in his fourth career start. Archarcharch won the Arkansas Derby at 25-1

HOT SPRINGS, Ark. (AP) - Bob Yagos signed the contract to sell its following of Archarcharch of prized Colt to victory in the Southwest stakes in February. When the agreement of seven figures was returned 15 minutes after the deadline for the possible foreign buyerYagos had a change of heart. That decision paid off when Archarcharch, ridden by Jon Court, used an overwhelming final kick to win the $ 1 million Arkansas Derby at Oaklawn Park on Saturday. "Was the first victory of degree 1 Trainer Jinks fires, and reserved the first trip to Kentucky Derby of the month for both natives of Arkansas Yagos and fires."That was our fear, making the wrong decision, "Yagos said sales Archarcharch." "We now know was right".Archarcharch overlooked entering the race after finishing third place in the rebel stakes last month and went to 25-1. "" Despite the struggles, which Fink blamed to a dustup at the door of Oaklawn, nor Yagos Fink lost faith in the colt "."It's wonderful, said Yagos. "We could only dream this would happen." P. and taste of dance City.J P ran the first quarter mile in 22.54 and continued setting the pace with a half-mile 46.53. The pace of principle was too much for the Factor of the worthy, that was used at the end. "My horse likes to be in the lead, but there was so much speed there and didn't want to go with them," jockey Martin Garcia said. "Not liked to be returned." "I didn't want to do it, but didn't want to kill him."The Colt trained by Bob Baffert won rebel stakes by 6 lengths, last month but it had never been more than 1 1/16 miles and he could not find the kick of closing needed in the 1 1/8 mile run in co-owner of Saturday. The Factor that George Bolton had said the horse needed to perform well in the 1/8 mile end in Oaklawn to ensure a trip to Churchill Downs. "Baffert did not want any part of this commitment after the disappointment of Arkansas."We'll see how it is, "said Baffert." "Right now, nor shall comment on."While the Factor showed little ability of closing on Saturday, Archarcharch began his March in the mile marker. It was closed in a rage on the outside of the city of dance and roll away, much as he had while winning the Southwest and finished in 1: 49. 34 The demonstrated sufficient thrust as he held a final Nehro of load by a neck. "Archarcharch paid $52.40, $16.80 and $8.20, while payment Nehro $9 and $5.60 to finish second and dance city $14.20 in third."This horse is something special, said Yagos." "Jinks gave us confidence in this horse from day 1.""This is a great emotion for the family and all those involved.".
